Animation as Communication

Using the co-designed visual My Choice Maps, a small number of participants chose to create short films using stop-motion animation techniques and blue-screen technology.

One participant used animation as a powerful form of communication, sharing positive memories of past family holidays. Through their film, they conveyed experiences such as seeing elephants and visiting a large indoor swimming pool.

Another participant created a calming sunset film featuring origami cranes flying across the sky. These symbolic figures represent hope, and the piece reflected the participant’s creativity, sense of calm achieved through the process, and pride in their work when showcasing the finished film to other participants.
