Clay Creations: Bold Masks and Trying Something New

A Reachout member has been creating these bold clay portraits, full of character. The first piece depicts The Mask, as portrayed by Jim Carrey—a choice that came about spontaneously when deciding what to create.
The second portrait is their own original design, The Ghost, featuring a striking coppery metallic glaze on the face—an experiment with new materials.

To create these works the member rolls out the clay using a rolling pin, ensuring an even thickness across the tile. Sharp clay tools are then used to carve intricate details and engrave designs. Once fired, underglaze colours are carefully selected.

Excitingly, this member is now working on a new project: creating clay portraits of all the costumes from The Masked Singer, season 6. Keep an eye out for their upcoming work!
