About the event

Rhythm, pace, intensity, volume, density, clarity, harmony, vibrancy, discordance, repetition, progression, resolution, mood...

These are all elements of music than can be expressed visually and there is a rich tradition of artists who have used sound as the basis of visual works across a vast range of media from drawing and painting to performance, sculpture, video and animation. We will explore some of these and using a range of approaches and materials we will create a collection of visual artworks based on our collective experience of music.

We want to produce images to use on posters for the Chamber Music events we have planned (in partnership with Enterprise Music Scotland), beginning in March, so for this project we will use compositions performed by the musicians we have booked as the basis to inform our visual work.

This workshop is free for Reachout members (usual £1 drop-in fee applies).
