Get Creative: Mural Design
“Look at me, I’m Mr Masterpiece with what I’m doing.” – Young participant
Participants were invited to collaborate on a large-scale 'Get Creative' mural, using a wide range of materials including water-based spray paint, ink, and paint pens. The centre of the mural features large wax-resist letters spelling out 'Get Creative'.
The young people truly captured the fun and energy of the programme in their mural design, using broad, expressive movements to create large marks, experimenting with bold colours, even flipping the mural upside down to explore new perspectives.
Children and young people worked brilliantly together, discussing design ideas and collaborating on placement. At times, a queue formed as more children eagerly waited to join in. They were warmly welcomed and included by others, reflecting the kindness and strong sense of community that had developed throughout the project.
