Get Creative: Abstract Painting
"I love this! I want to be an artist when I grow up!" - Young participant commenting on their painting.
Our Abstract Painting session offered young people a relaxed, creative space to try something new – and they fully embraced it.
“I love this! I want to be an artist when I grow up,” said one enthusiastic participant. Another, when asked how they found their first day, replied with a big smile, “Great! I want to come here every day.”
There were moments of real pride and excitement too, like when one young person blended colours and said, “Wow, look at mine!”
A participant who had attended a previous session naturally stepped into a supportive role, helping others with materials and offering tips along the way.
Several turned their paintings into thoughtful gifts – one became a birthday card for a grandparent, another a present for their mum. A few chose to create pieces for each other, chatting as they worked and enjoying the process of experimenting with colour and ideas together.
The session was a reminder of how much creativity can bring people together – and how valuable it is to simply have space to explore and express yourself.
