Get Creative: Clay Hand Building
“Aw, it’s so cute!” – said one participant, excited about their house sculpture.
During this session, participants built upon clay skills, learned from a previous session and at school. Many of them found the process of flattening clay calming, offering a rhythmic way to explore and process difficult emotions.
The young participants fully embraced experimentation, moulding dinosaur fossils, PlayStation remotes, house sculptures and more.
Feedback from our post‑workshop evaluations was very positive:
“Aw, it’s so cute!” – said one participant, excited about their house sculpture.
“Can we take these home?” – another asked, excited to share creations.
“There’s lots of excitement around today’s workshop.” – Nicola, Community House practitioner.
Islean, Community House manager: “You could really tell they enjoyed the session. The fact they all stayed for the full session and remained engaged is fantastic. Thank you.”
In short, this workshop offered a blend of sensory calm, creative freedom, and emotional expression. The children stayed focused, explored freely and took joy in making something all their own.
