Skills Development Through The Arts
Creating Futures provided free, structured, person-centred access to high-quality creative therapeutic art practices, self-help wellbeing tools, exhibition opportunities, peer support, practical and emotional guidance, volunteering pathways, procession routes and signposting. All workshops took place in the Stirling area.
Referrals were open to:

Young people aged 16 years+ at risk of not moving on to a positive destination.

Residents in SIMD 5–10% most deprived areas (Raploch, Cornton, Bannockburn, Hillpark).

24 young people aged 16 years+ living with neurodiversity, mental health challenges, ASN and / or low confidence.
Outcomes:

Progression toward positive destinations: participants received person-centred creative interventions, ensuring tailored support.

Improved personal and social capabilities: participants experienced increased confidence, resilience and self-management through co-produced creative workshops.

Reducing inequalities: young people with neurodiversity, additional support needs and mental health challenges engaged in inclusive, stigma-free environments.

Enhanced mental health and wellbeing: therapeutic art practices and peer support fostered emotional regulation, self-expression and mutual aid.

Community engagement and resilience: 50% of participants were expected to continue engaging with Reachout services following the programme.

Early intervention and continuity of support: partnerships ensured joined-up referral pathways and sustained impact.
