Kim: Volunteering, Art, and Feeling Understood

"I get overwhelmed in various environments. However, I always feel relaxed when I come into Reachout."

I joined Reachout With Arts In Mind in April/May 2024. Since attending workshops and being able to do some light volunteering, my confidence in my own abilities has grown stronger.

Being an adult women with undiagnosed autism/adhd, life has been extremely challenging often for me, leaving me with a lot of self-doubt and worth. I get overwhelmed in various environments. However, I always feel relaxed when I come into Reachout, as the atmosphere is so relaxed, and I am finding that I can relate to many of the other members, and we all treat each other with equal respect.

I like how the staff are friendly and very encouraging with our art development. I like that they do not criticise our projects, but help us to believe in our own individual abilities. I hope Reachout With Arts in Mind will be running for a very long time.
