Leanne Dewar

Leanne joined Reachout With Arts In Mind in July 2021 as Artist Facilitator, before covering the Studio Manager position 3 days a week in July 2022 (Maternity Cover) and subsequently taking on the role of Senior Artist Facilitator and Engagement Manager. From childhood Leanne has always loved anything creative and can remember painting with watercolours for the first time with her mum (and hating them!)

Fast forward to 2018, Leanne graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in with Bachelor of Arts with Honours Painting (and now LOVES watercolours!). Leanne has over 9 years’ experience facilitating creative experiences, first beginning at The Little Art School working with children and adults.

Then moving onto Impact Arts facilitating sessions with teenagers in Irvine, South Ayrshire; looking at the Maritime Museum collections, and in Edinburgh; focusing on The National Museum of Scotland collections as inspiration and learning tools.

She then went on to become Commercial Operations and Engagement Coordinator at Dovecot Studios, a contemporary art, craft and design centre, and tapestry studio in Edinburgh.

Leanne’s art practice focuses on utilising traditional and nontraditional materials, and processes within the realm of painting with an experimental approach. Outside of work Leanne enjoys getting out and about in nature, or visiting contemporary art exhibitions.
